چکیده :
میترائیسم، یکی از کهنترین کیشهای ایرانی، در راه هدایت پیروان خود، از نمادهایی اسطورهای بهره میبرد که تحلیل آنها رهبرندۀ مخاطب به درکی صحیح از جنبههای مختلف کارکرد این نمادها در این آیین است.
مهرابهها، نیایشگاههای پیروان این آیین، ساختاری نمادین دارند؛ این نیایشگاهها یا در غارهای طبیعی ساخته یا به شکل غار طراحی شدهاند.
در این پژوهش تلاش شده است کارکرد نماد غار بر بنیاد دیدگاه الیاده و کارکرد این نماد در کیش میترائیسم بررسی شوند.
در این پژوهش با تکیه بر دیدگاههای اسطورهشناختی و دینپژوهانۀ میرچا الیاده، نماد غار و کارکردهای ذکرشدۀ آن در متون مختلف بررسی شدهاند و با بهرهگیری از تحلیلهای الیاده در آثار مختلفش، نگارندگان کوشیدهاند کارکرد نمادین غار را در آیین میترائیسم بررسی کنند.
بر پایۀ طبقهبندی نوین ارائهشده در این پژوهش و برایند واکاوی آثار الیاده، باید کارکرد نمادین غار در آیین میترائیسم را در زیرمجموعۀ «جایگاه نمادین آیین تشرف» دستهبندی کرد که در پیوند با «زهدان زمین ـ مادر» و «دنیای درون و ناخودآگاه» است.
